Wedding images from London, the UK and further afield
Every wedding produces a handful of frames that stay with me. Not always the ones I expected. A look exchanged during a speech, light falling across a room at the right moment, a grandmother watching from the back of a hall.
This gallery collects those photographs. Fourteen years of weddings, reduced to the images I keep returning to.
Where these were taken
Most were photographed in London, at venues including Chelsea Old Town Hall, the Natural History Museum, Drapers' Hall, the Dorchester and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. Others come from further out, at country estates like Manor by the Lake in the Cotswolds and Hunton Park in Hertfordshire.
The rest are from destination weddings in Ireland, Italy, France and Romania, and from the multi-day Asian celebrations that make up a large part of my year.
How I photograph
I work quietly. Most of what you see here was unposed, taken while people were occupied with something other than the camera. Where I have directed, it was briefly, and usually only for portraits.
The style is natural and editorial. Warm rather than heavily filtered, and edited so that a gallery still holds together when you come back to it in twenty years.
